A Day in the Life of a Pumpkin

I haven't had much time to write these last few days. We're watching my adorable little niece for a week - and boy has it been one adventure after another.

She's two.

'Nuff said.

Anyway, I wanted to give you a link to a really neat post that I read on another blog this morning. It's all the things you can do with one store-bought pumpkin. Just one. Pretty cool.

But then again, I'm boring. So, this might just only appeal to me.

And I love pumpkins. In fact, I'm about to get the kids ready to make a trek to Walmart specifically to see if they carry the new Pumpkin Spice Hershey Kisses. Yum!

Hey. I need something to help get me through a week of adventures with a 2 year-old, 3 year-old, 5 year-old, and 6 year-old.

I just read her post before I checked your blog! That is so cool. I love a good challenge like that....have stretched a chicken into several different meals, but never a pumpkin!

Acceptance and Moving Forward

It's been so long since I posted here. I wasn't even sure that I would remember my password. And, actually, I really haven't planned anything to write out, but I just had this overwhelming urge to post today. Maybe so that I can look back on this post next year and see how far we've come, I'm not sure. But here we are... and here I am.... 2016 was a challenge. Not just for our family, but for everyone it seems. I look around and 2016 just seems to be a year of hurt. It was a tough year on so many levels.  A little over a year ago, on December 23, 2015, we were told that my husband most likely had a certain lung condition that gave him only three years to live. We are so fortunate that it was NOT what they thought, but it led us straight into 2016 full of fear and despair.... feelings which continue all the way through today.... and may lead into 2017. Noah said, "I love you, Mom"!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I can't believe it!!! I walked by him sitting at the table and kissed him on the head and said, "Have I told you this morning how much I love you?" And he said, "Iduvumum" Of course, I was stunned. And I said, "Noah, did you just say, "I love you mom? Yes or No?" And he said, "Esssss" Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Of course I cried. And called Sim. And called my mom. And Noah was so pleased with himself that he took me by the hand and led me straight to the TV so that he could watch an Elmo video. I guess he thought, "Hey, I told you I love you, so now I get a freebie." This officially goes down in history as the best day of my life. (Doing carthwheels and happy dances and thanking Jesus).
