Eli Has Other Plans...




Remember in my blog post a few days ago where I mentioned that I had plans on keeping Eli in public school for 1st grade?

We'll, Eli has other plans. He gave me a note that the "doctor" wrote on a "prescription pad" detailing exactly why he can't go back to school:



Translated as: "Eli's head is hurting. Tummy hurting. (He has a) mosquito bite and eye infection."

And, according to Eli, the only cure is for him to stay home and watch cartoons all day.

Is that boy dramatic or what?? ;-)

P.S. Yes, we WILL be working on spelling this summer... lol

Saw your previous post about Nandi and possible seizures. I do "speak" seizures, so if you need any support let me know. I have friends in TX who can point you in the right direction. Many families there have kids like mine with EXTREME seizure disorders, so we know where to go. Keep us posted.

Acceptance and Moving Forward

It's been so long since I posted here. I wasn't even sure that I would remember my password. And, actually, I really haven't planned anything to write out, but I just had this overwhelming urge to post today. Maybe so that I can look back on this post next year and see how far we've come, I'm not sure. But here we are... and here I am.... 2016 was a challenge. Not just for our family, but for everyone it seems. I look around and 2016 just seems to be a year of hurt. It was a tough year on so many levels.  A little over a year ago, on December 23, 2015, we were told that my husband most likely had a certain lung condition that gave him only three years to live. Noah said, "I love you, Mom"!!!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!! I can't believe it!!! I walked by him sitting at the table and kissed him on the head and said, "Have I told you this morning how much I love you?" And he said, "Iduvumum" Of course, I was stunned. And I said, "Noah, did you just say, "I love you mom? Yes or No?" And he said, "Esssss" Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Of course I cried. And called Sim. And called my mom. And Noah was so pleased with himself that he took me by the hand and led me straight to the TV so that he could watch an Elmo video. I guess he thought, "Hey, I told you I love you, so now I get a freebie." This officially goes down in history as the best day of my life. (Doing carthwheels and happy dances and thanking Jesus).
